Niantic has rolled out a brand-new in-game event calendar in Pokémon GO — a single hub for discovering, learning about, and planning your participation in events and community meetups. Alongside it, the Today View has been streamlined so your daily goals stay front and centre. Here's everything the update brings and how to make the most of it.
Tap the calendar icon in the lower-right corner of the map screen to open the event calendar. From there you can see what's happening now and what's coming soon.
Every event in one place
The event calendar gathers current and upcoming events into one scrollable list, so you no longer have to piece the schedule together from separate announcements. A dropdown menu lets you filter by category, making it easy to jump straight to the raids, Community Days, or seasonal events you care about. The "Happening Now" section that used to sit in the Today View now lives here too.
Discover and RSVP to local Meetups
The calendar is also where you'll find in-person Meetups hosted by Community Ambassadors — trainers who receive official support from Niantic to run Pokémon GO events for their local communities. Tap Join a Meetup to browse gatherings near you, then RSVP to let the host know you're coming. You can edit your RSVP or check in directly from the calendar once you arrive.
Checking in at a Meetup unlocks a Meetup Check-in Timed Research with a Pokémon encounter and item rewards — a nice bonus for showing up and playing alongside your local community.
A streamlined Today View
With events moving into the calendar, the Today View has been trimmed down to focus on your daily goals: Field Research, Daily Activities, and GO Passes. You can scroll and swipe through these menus to track your progress at a glance, without everything else competing for space.
Plan from your browser, too
Prefer to plan on the big screen? Head to the official Events website and log in with your Pokémon GO account to browse upcoming events and Meetups. Any changes you make on the site — including RSVPs — sync automatically with the game, so your plans travel with you.
Our take
Bringing events, meetups, and RSVPs together in one calendar is a welcome quality-of-life upgrade, especially with a packed 2026 schedule and the GO Fest 2026 Community Celebrations on the horizon. If you've ever missed a Community Day or forgotten to RSVP to a local meetup, this is the feature for you. Open the app, tap the calendar icon, and take it for a spin — and as always, you'll find the full Snacknap event schedule right here on the site.
