Only what’s needed to run the site and remember your preferences — plus cookieless analytics. No tracking, no banner.
Snacknap uses a handful of essential and preference cookies — to keep you signed in and remember things like your theme. Our analytics is cookieless and IP-anonymized. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you don’t get a cookie pop-up.
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential (the site can’t work without them); others just remember your preferences.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID | Keeps your session working and secure | Session | Essential |
tUserID, tUserHash | Keep you signed in to your account | 30 days | Essential |
oauth_apple_state | Security during Sign in with Apple | 10 minutes | Essential |
snk_theme | Remembers light/dark theme | 1 year | Preference |
accountID, accountHash | Sign-in for our own staff/admin tools only | 30 days | Essential (staff) |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance | Set by Cloudflare to protect the site from bots/abuse | Short-lived | Essential |
A few preferences are stored locally in your browser (not cookies, and never sent to anyone): your theme, 12/24-hour time format, reduced-motion choice, list/grid view, and which one-time tips you’ve already seen. None of this is personal data.
We use our own analytics service, Vyniq (v.vyniq.dev) —
operated by an affiliated company we own ourselves, on our own hardware in the Netherlands. It
tells us, in aggregate, how the site is used. It’s cookieless and
IP-anonymized, it stores nothing in your browser, it isn’t an advertising network,
and it doesn’t track you across other sites. That’s why it doesn’t need your
consent.
To load quickly, some site code is served from a content delivery network (jsDelivr). It doesn’t set cookies, but like any request it sees your IP. When you make a payment, you’re taken to Mollie, which sets its own cookies on its own checkout page — not on Snacknap.
Under EU rules, consent banners are for non-essential tracking cookies. We don’t use any — only essential/preference cookies and cookieless analytics — so a banner would just be noise.
You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies will stop you from staying signed in.
