The free GO Pass: Mega Finale includes enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your chosen partner once. Trainers who upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe can earn enough additional Mega Energy to raise their chosen partner’s Mega Level.

Timed Research — choose your Kalos first partner Pokémon
Start your journey by completing branching Timed Research where you can choose Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie.
Complete this Timed Research to get GO Pass: Mega Finale, which includes rewards to help you Mega Evolve the Pokémon you chose. The GO Pass becomes available on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie appear across every event habitat. Participate in Mega Raids and catch them during the event to earn lots of Mega Energy, which you can use to unlock new Mega Levels for those Pokémon.

8 habitats · 4 per day, each twice · 10 AM – 6 PM localEach one-hour window features its own habitat, and every habitat returns for a second hour later the same day. Tap a window for its full Mega Raid line-up with CP and Shiny.

Super Mega Raids
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y headline the Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale Super Mega Raids.
Super Mega Raids appear at certain Gyms only. At all other Gyms, only Mega Raids appear during event hours, rotating with the active habitat.
Challenge Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y to collect Mewtwo with a Special Background.
Mega Mewtwo X gains a new Charged Attack, Dynamic Punch+, with an Adventure Effect that increases damage against Mega-Evolved Pokémon in Mega Raids and Super Mega Raids — in Super Mega Raids, it can break two Shields at once instead of one.
Mega Mewtwo Y gains a new Charged Attack, Future Sight+, with an Adventure Effect that reveals at the start of an encounter whether a Pokémon will appraise as 3 stars or higher. Both Adventure Effects remain active even when Mewtwo is not Mega Evolved, once unlocked with Mega Energy and Candy.

Armored Mewtwo
Armored Mewtwo returns to five-star raids for the Mega Finale weekend — last seen in Pokémon GO in 2020.
This armored form appeared in the film Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution: its armor suppresses Mewtwo's power, but it still holds overwhelming strength. Shiny Armored Mewtwo will not be available at this time.

Progress through the free track to earn rewards including encounters with your chosen partner, Link Charges, Candy, Stardust, XP and enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your chosen partner once.
Trainers who upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe: Mega Finale earn additional rewards: an increased chance to encounter certain Shiny event Pokémon and Mega Raid Bosses, additional Candy, Candy XL and XP from Mega Raids, a Kalos first partner Pokémon–inspired avatar shirt, and enough Mega Energy to level their chosen partner to Super Max Level.
After Rank 100, Trainers can continue earning repeat bonus rewards up to Rank 600. Rewards are available for a limited time, so claim them before they’re gone.
