Pokémon Debuts

Pokémon first discovered in the Galar region make their Pokémon GO debuts during the Water Festival.

  • Arrokuda, the Rush Pokémon, debuts in Field Research task rewards and via the GO Pass and Rainy Lure Modules.
  • Barraskewda, the Skewer Pokémon — use 50 Arrokuda Candy to evolve Arrokuda into Barraskewda.
  • Cramorant, the Gulp Pokémon, debuts in Eggs, via the GO Pass, and in GO Battle League reward encounters. Cramorant can change form in battle, unleashing new possibilities for your battle team. (It is not eligible in the Competitors Cup.)
The sprites for these newly debuting Pokémon are being added soon.
Costumed Pokémon

A fan favorite returns for the Water Festival — Psyduck wearing a swim ring makes its comeback!

If you're lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

Wild Encounters

Event-themed Pokémon appear more often in the wild during the Water Festival.

If you're lucky, you might also encounter Feebas and Clamperl (shown below as rarer encounters). Wiglett will appear more frequently in its natural biome.

If you're lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

Some Trainers might even encounter the following!
Raids

The following Pokémon appear in raids during the event.

Tatsugiri's form depends on your region. If you're lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Psyduck (swim ring), Lapras (scarf), Hisuian Samurott, or Dondozo.

Field Research

Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available.

Complete these tasks to earn items and encounters with event-themed Pokémon — including a chance to encounter the debuting Arrokuda.

Niantic hasn't detailed the specific Field Research tasks and their rewards yet — we'll update this page as soon as they're available.
GO Battle League

During the event, Cramorant will appear in both GO Battle League reward tracks starting at Rank 16.

It will appear more frequently in the premium reward track.
