Charmander

To celebrate the launch of the Red Pokémon Jet, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Pokémon GO are teaming up for a special collaboration at airports across Japan.

The Red Pokémon Jet is part of a project marking Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. During Phase 1, Charmander appears in raids with a special Red Pokémon Jet–themed Location Background at six participating airports, and visiting a participating airport rewards Timed Research.

This is a location-based event that takes place only at the participating airports in Japan.

Similar events are planned to coincide with the launch of the Green Pokémon Jet and Blue Pokémon Jet — details for Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be announced later.

Charmander Raids

Charmander appears in raids with a special Red Pokémon Jet–themed Location Background.

Trainers can take part in one Raid Battle per day at each Gym during regular Raid Battle hours.

If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Charmander.

Timed Research

When you visit a participating airport, you’ll receive Timed Research awarding encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

Each Trainer can claim this Timed Research only once, at any one of the participating airports. The Timed Research expires three days after you receive it.

Niantic hasn’t detailed the Timed Research tasks or the event-themed reward Pokémon yet. We’ll update this page as soon as they’re announced.
Participating Airports (Phase 1)

Phase 1 takes place at the following airports in Japan:

  • New Chitose Airport
  • Hakodate Airport
  • Akita Airport
  • Sendai Airport
  • Haneda Airport (Terminal 2, Terminal 3)
  • Narita Airport (Terminal 1)

The airports eligible for Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be announced later.
