Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is FREE for the first time! Trainers around the world can join the celebration on the weekend of July 11–12, 2026.

  • Dates: Saturday, July 11 – Sunday, July 12, 2026
  • Event hours: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. local time each day
  • Total event gameplay: nine event hours per day — an extra hour compared to past GO Fest weekends
  • Ticket: FREE for all Trainers logged in during the event weekend

  • Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon, makes its Pokémon GO debut through Free Special Research
  • Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y debut in Pokémon GO — including their Shiny forms

Free Special Research — Zeraora Debut

For the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers will be able to complete Free Special Research to encounter Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon!

Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is FREE for all Trainers logged in during the event weekend. Special Research leading to a Zeraora encounter is available to every Trainer at no cost — no ticket required.

The Special Research does not expire, allowing Trainers to complete it whenever they choose.

Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y Debut

Mewtwo's Mega Evolutions, Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, are coming to Pokémon GO during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global!

For the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers will be able to encounter and battle Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, the Mega Evolutions of the Genetic Pokémon Mewtwo. Shiny Mega Mewtwo X and Shiny Mega Mewtwo Y also make their debut.

Every Mewtwo caught from Super Mega Battles during Pokémon GO Fest: Global will have at least one Mega Level unlocked, with the possibility of Mega Level 2 or 3.

Branching Timed Research — Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y

During the event, Trainers will receive Branching Timed Research that allows them to choose their preferred encounter: either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y.

Mewtwo caught from Mega Mewtwo X raids will know the Fast Attack Counter. Mewtwo caught from Mega Mewtwo Y raids will know the Charged Attack Psystrike.

Mewtwo caught from these raids will have at least one Mega Level already unlocked.

The three original Kanto starters — Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle — make their debut wearing a Pikachu visor. They can evolve while keeping the costume.

Habitat Schedule

Each day, three themed habitats rotate every three hours — six habitats total across the weekend. Each habitat features specific Pokémon types in the wild and at raids.

Saturday, July 11

  • 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Stormfire Peaks — Ice, Electric and Fire types
  • 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Astral Tides — Psychic, Ghost and Water types
  • 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Dragonflight Summit — Flying, Rock and Dragon types

Sunday, July 12

  • 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Earthforged Domain — Ground, Steel and Normal types
  • 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Verdant Anomaly — Poison, Bug and Grass types
  • 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Twilight Battlefield — Dark, Fairy and Fighting types

Saturday Super Mega Raid — Mega Mewtwo X

During the last part of Saturday's event hours, Super Mega Raid Battles featuring Mega Mewtwo X will appear globally.

Mewtwo caught from Mega Mewtwo X raids will know the Fast Attack Counter and have at least one Mega Level already unlocked.

Sunday Super Mega Raid — Mega Mewtwo Y

During the last part of Sunday's event hours, Super Mega Raid Battles featuring Mega Mewtwo Y will appear globally.

Mewtwo caught from Mega Mewtwo Y raids will know the Charged Attack Psystrike and have at least one Mega Level already unlocked.

Sunday Five-Star Raids

Five-Star Raid bosses rotate every three hours, following the Sunday habitat schedule. Origin Forme Dialga and Enamorus (both formes) do not have Shiny forms available; all other Pokémon listed may appear as Shiny.

Regional availability: Buzzwole appears in the Americas and Greenland, Pheromosa in Europe / Middle East / Africa / India, Xurkitree in Asia-Pacific. Celesteela, Kartana, Stakataka and Blacephalon also have regional restrictions.

Field Research

Field Research tasks refresh each hour and follow the current habitat's featured types during event hours (10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. local time both days).

Global Challenges & Ultra Unlocks

Global Challenges throughout the weekend unlock additional bonuses and Ultra Unlock events later in the Forever Forward season.
