Festival of Colors is returning to Pokémon GO, bringing special celebrations exclusively for Trainers in India.

During this year’s event, Pikachu wearing a saree and Pikachu wearing a kurta will return, each with a chance to feature a Special Background.

Additional event-themed Pokémon will also appear as part of the Festival of Colors celebration.

Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.

Get Stickers of Pikachu wearing a kurta and Pikachu wearing a saree from spinning PokéStops.


Celebratory Colors

Trainers can expect a colorful surprise near PokéStops during the event.

Approach PokéStops to discover special visual effects tied to the Festival of Colors celebration.

Special Background

Certain costumed Pikachu may feature a Special Background during the event.

The following Pokémon may have a Special Background when caught from Raid Battles or during Colorful O’Clock:

  • Pikachu wearing a saree*
  • Pikachu wearing a kurta*

*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Pokémon.

Colorful O'Clock

At three set times each day, a short “burst” of wild spawns will occur, featuring event Pokémon for five minutes.

These boosted spawns will happen for five minutes at:

  • 10:00 a.m. local time
  • 1:00 p.m. local time
  • 7:00 p.m. local time

During each five-minute window, the following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:

  • Pikachu wearing a saree*
  • Pikachu wearing a kurta*
  • Medicham*
  • Plant Cloak Burmy*
  • Sandy Cloak Burmy*
  • Trash Cloak Burmy*
  • Red Flower Flabébé*
  • Orange Flower Flabébé*
  • White Flower Flabébé*
  • Bruxish*

*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Pokémon.

Raids

The following Pokemon will appear in Raid Battles.

One-Star Raids

These raids will be available exclusively at sponsored Gyms in select locations across India.

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park (Mumbai)
  • Dr. Visvesvaraya Tower Park (Chennai)
  • Indira Park (Hyderabad)
  • Lodhi Gardens (New Delhi)
  • Rabindra Sarobar (Kolkata)
  • Saras Baug (Pune)
  • Sri Chamarajendra Park (Cubbon Park), (Bengaluru)

Only sponsored Gyms in the locations listed above will host these raids.

Lure Module Encounters

During the event, specific Pokémon will appear more frequently when Lure Modules are active.

The following Pokémon will have increased spawn rates from Lure Modules:

  • Plant Cloak Burmy*
  • Sandy Cloak Burmy*
  • Trash Cloak Burmy*
  • Red Flower Flabébé*
  • Orange Flower Flabébé*
  • White Flower Flabébé*

Some Trainers may also encounter:

  • Medicham*

*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Pokémon.

Collection Challenge

Festival of Colors–themed Collection Challenges will be available during the event.

Catch the featured event Pokémon to complete these Collection Challenges and earn Stardust and XP.

Timed Research

A free Timed Research will be available during the event.

By completing the Timed Research tasks, Trainers can earn the following rewards:

  • Lucky Egg
  • Rare Candy
  • Stickers featuring Pikachu wearing a kurta and Pikachu wearing a saree
  • Branched research leading to an encounter with either Pikachu wearing a saree with a Special Background or Pikachu wearing a kurta with a Special Background
  • Additional rewards
