Updates to Pokemon GO Events

Starting with the Memories in Motion event, several structural updates will be introduced to how Pokémon GO events are scheduled and accessed.

  • Event pacing will shift to a more regular and predictable schedule.
  • Weekend events will now take place on Saturdays (local time).
  • Paid event tickets will gradually be replaced with event-specific GO Passes.
  • Later this Season, an in-game event calendar will be introduced, allowing Trainers to view upcoming events and important dates directly in the app.

These changes aim to create a clearer structure for future events and make it easier for Trainers to plan their gameplay.

Daily Discoveries

Starting with the Memories in Motion event, Pokémon GO will introduce a new weekly structure featuring Daily Discovery experiences.

Each week will include themed gameplay experiences on specific days, offering something new for Trainers to enjoy regularly.

Daily Discovery experiences will be active from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time, unless otherwise stated.

Sunday

Double-Time Sunday boosts the duration of several popular items used on Sundays.

Incense, Lure Modules, Glacial Lure Modules, Mossy Lure Modules, Magnetic Lure Modules, and Rainy Lure Modules activated on Sunday will last up to twice as long.

Monday

Fast-Track Monday and Max Monday introduce weekly bonuses focused on GO Pass progression and Dynamax gameplay.

Fast-Track Monday

  • 2× GO Points from Pass Tasks for both monthly and event GO Passes

Max Monday

  • Power Spots refresh more frequently
  • Additional Power Spots are active compared to the rest of the week
  • Max Battles rotate to feature different Dynamax Pokémon
  • Max Battles are available from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time

Please note: Outside of Max Mondays and Max Battle Days, Power Spot availability will be limited.

Tuesday

Showcase Tuesday brings expanded PokéStop Showcases each week.

Every Tuesday, PokéStop Showcases will be active and can feature up to 20 different categories. Log in to see which Pokémon you can showcase that week.

Wednesday

Wednesday remains the dedicated Raid Hour day, with weekly updates to raid rotations.

  • Five-star Raid Bosses and Mega Raid Bosses will rotate at the start of each week.
  • Raid Hour will continue to take place every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, featuring the current five-star Raid Boss.

Be sure to check the weekly rotation to see which Legendary or featured Pokémon will headline that week’s Raid Hour.

Thursday

GO Battle Thursday increases both Stardust rewards and the number of GO Battle League battles you can play.

  • Up to 4× Stardust from win rewards (not including end-of-set rewards)
  • Daily set limit increases from 5 to 10 sets (up to 50 battles total)

This makes Thursdays a strong day to grind GO Battle League wins for extra Stardust and more battles.

Friday

Friendship Friday enhances in-person trading with increased bonuses for Trainers.

  • Up to two Special Trades allowed on Friday
  • Increased chance for trades to become Lucky Trades
  • Up to 10% reduced Stardust cost for trades
  • Two guaranteed Candy XL from trades (Trainers level 31+)

*These bonuses apply to in-person trades only.

Encounter Shiny Pokemon!

Shiny odds are getting a boost, with more opportunities to encounter rare Shiny Pokémon.

  • Any evolved Pokémon appearing in the wild can be Shiny if its Shiny form has already debuted in Pokémon GO.
  • Increased Shiny chance from Raid Battles and from hatching Eggs compared to wild encounters.
  • Any Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket that has had its Shiny debut can also be Shiny.
  • Higher chance of rescuing Shiny Pokémon from Team GO Rocket Leaders and Giovanni compared to Grunts.

If you’re lucky, you could encounter Shiny Pokémon through multiple gameplay paths during this event.

Special Research Story: Pressure Rising

The Special Research story “Pressure Rising” will be available to all Trainers for free starting March 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

After completing the Glitz and Glam Special Research, Trainers who finish Pressure Rising will earn an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Volcanion.

This Special Research does not expire, allowing Trainers to complete it at their own pace.

If you previously accessed the Pokémon GO Fest 2025–exclusive Special Research, completing Pressure Rising will award Volcanion Candy instead of another encounter.
