Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta Coming Soon to Pokémon GO
AlgemeenNiantic has officially announced that Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta will make their debut in Pokémon GO during the Season of Shared Skies! For the first time, Trainers will be able to transform these Legendary Pokémon into their powerful Crowned forms using a newly discovered resource: Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy.
- Debut during Pokémon GO Fest 2025, starting June 1, 2025
- Trainers can transform Zacian and Zamazenta into their Crowned forms using the respective energy
- Transformation requires the Pokémon to know the Charged Attack Iron Head
- Once transformed, the Pokémon can switch between forms without additional energy
How Does It Work?
- Use 1,000 Crowned Sword Energy to transform Zacian into Crowned Sword Zacian
- Use 1,000 Crowned Shield Energy to transform Zamazenta into Crowned Shield Zamazenta
- Both Pokémon must know the Charged Attack Iron Head prior to transformation
- After the initial transformation, you can switch between forms freely without consuming additional energy
- Transformed Pokémon cannot be traded or transferred to Pokémon HOME
How to Obtain Crowned Forme Energy
- Early access available through branching Special Research at in-person Pokémon GO Fest events in Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris
- During Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global, earn energy by defeating Crowned Sword Zacian or Crowned Shield Zamazenta in Raid Battles or by completing ticketed Special Research
- Prepare by stocking up on Rare Candy XL for Zacian and Zamazenta
Max Battles and Signature Moves
- Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta can participate in Max Battles, a new battle format in Pokémon GO
- Upon transformation, their Charged Attack Iron Head changes to their signature moves:
- Behemoth Blade for Crowned Sword Zacian
- Behemoth Bash for Crowned Shield Zamazenta
- These signature moves can be leveled up to deal more damage in Max Battles
- Additionally, Trainers can unlock and level up Guard and Spirit moves for use in Max Battles
